The Sullivan Residence during the of Summer 2019

Updated: Apr 16, 2020

The Sullivan Residence comes to the Rochelle Revamps design team during the summer of 2019. It features a newly constructed single family home with a beautiful contemporary style in an up and coming neighborhood near Asheville, North Carolina.

Our clients are Callie and Ethan Sullivan who share twin ten year old girls with their own individual personality. Callie is a high school art instructor who also works from home teaching creative classes. Ethan is a sales manager who travels often for work related purposes, who also works from home.

Rochelle Revamps is creating a space for the Sullivan family to live happily and comfortably in their new home. We want them to feel as though they've always belonged to this home and there is nothing that feels out of place.

Inspired by organic modern spaces, the Sullivan's are wishing to have their home filled with this style throughout. Adding along a bit of bohemian style to liven it up and make it feel more lived in, yet cultured.

The organic modern designed home will feature a neutral color pallette against whites and and natural wood materials. The family desires a variety of colorful accents as well, which will with the bohemian details. However, the family does not wish to have hues of pink in the home due to personal distaste for the masculine color.

Instead we've decided to incorporate a variety of deep greens and yellows on a white backdrop. With hints of gray to assist in neutralizing the brighter colors.

Alongside this organic color pallette will be plants. Plants everywhere; Plants in almost every nook! We want to give the home to keep fresh air with these magnificent greenery. A few accent flowers will touch the delicate places, but for massive life will come massive greens! The variety will include large and medium sized potted plants, with a few smaller ones to fit atop the counter space. Falling plants will also hang gracefully from the ceilings and higher spaces.

A desirable amount of counter space is ideal for the family for enjoying morning chats during breakfast, snacking on healthy fruit and veg, or for discussing work progress and dance recitals.

Closed cabinetry and brightly balanced space is what the Sullivan's want for their kitchen. Though it is not the first image that's thought of when considering organic modern/ boho chic- typically we think of open cabinetry, natural woods. However, this design challenge will be evaluated and the appropriate kitchen design will satisfy the family to the fullest extent.

Geometric shapes throughout the home will pull the organic/ boho to meet with the modern!

The home will be filled with hardwood floors, soft, woolly textures, natural greenery, whites and colors, and neutral warmth. We want every member of the Sullivan household to be happy and content in their new home. We want them to feel as though this home was built specifically built for them. We want the Sullivan's to live their best happy life in their new home!

We wish for the Sullivan's to like our design ideas and find themselves living their best life within our design!

Until next time.

Rochelle.
